The Purpose of Friends of the Farms is to provide a means by which citizens can make charitable donations or bequests to fund enhancements to the facility.
History of Simsbury Farms
Simsbury’s Gem – aka Simsbury Farms Recreation Complex – was originally a functioning Apple Orchard.ย It was purchased from Clyde Carter on December 8, 1968.
The Future
The Parks and Recreation Staff and Parks and Recreation Commission have offered suggestions for enhancements to our facility that are not priorities under the Town Capital Plan.

Golf Tournament: September 27!
The Friends of Simsbury Farms (FOSF) is pleased to announce that 2024 maintains the tradition of continuous improvement and upgrades to all of Simsbury Farms, culminating with our capstone golf tournament on September 27, 2024.

Spread out over 235 rolling acres, picturesque Simsbury Farms is the hub of recreational activity in Simsbury. The โFarmsโ was built on the former Orkil orchard, and the golf course was designed by renowned architect Geoff Cornish. It is one of the most popular and scenic in the area, and has undergone extensive improvements to ensure that it maintains it’s place as simply “one of the best”.
